# Founder Corrections: Running Log

No version suffix: this is a live, cross-version log, not a point-in-time snapshot (like `voice.md`). It records every founder correction, rejection, or explicit praise of a visual choice from 11 September 2026 forward. Anyone, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or a human, appends one entry when it happens. Entries are periodically reviewed and folded into `tokens/PRINCIPLES-v3.md` as numbered, dated rules; folding an entry in does not remove it from this log.

**Precedence**: a correction recorded here, once made, is the current standing rule for its surface until superseded by a later entry here; it outranks the numbered principles ledger until the next fold-in reconciles them. Full statement: `brand/precedence.md`.

**Privacy**: never record customer data, personal details, or secrets. Quotes must be about design only.

**Format** (one entry per correction, newest at the bottom):

```
## YYYY-MM-DD · surface · element
- Had: what the design did
- Wanted: what he asked for instead
- His words: "exact quote, 25 words at most" (if available)
- Picture: path or URL to a before/after image, or none
- Tool/session: codex | claude-code | cursor, plus a session hint if known
- Folded into PRINCIPLES-v3.md: not yet | P-nn (date folded)
```

<!-- entries below, carried forward from the outlex-design skill's taste-ledger-additions.md, plus this canon's own launch entries -->

## 2026-09-11 · homepage hero · text volume and positioning
- Had: the live hero stacks a five-line list under the headline that repeats the headline and intro.
- Wanted: less text and calmer positioning. He judged a first-try hero with headline, one sentence and one button as beating the live site.
- His words: "some weird change happened to the website making the text too much and the positioning"
- Picture: First-Try Bench, hero brief (https://claude.ai/code/artifact/9bdefd72-842e-4e9c-984e-38ffbba9fea3)
- Tool/session: claude-code, first-try benchmark judging page
- Folded into PRINCIPLES-v3.md: not yet (matches P-01, restraint)

## 2026-09-14 · About / Careers / Compare / Contact / Cost Calculator / FAQ / Founding Member / Guides / How It Works / Integrations / Lawyer Network / Lexi / Partners / Product inner heroes · generated photography
- Had: nine of the first batch of generated inner-hero photographs carried real, legible third-party logos or device stickers; some inpainting edits removing marks left visible ghosts.
- Wanted: every generated image checked at full resolution for real logos and edit ghosts before registration; re-generated or re-edited where found.
- His words: none recorded verbatim; traced through the imagery review that produced `brand/imagery-v3.md` §2.
- Picture: none (see `design/photo-registry.json` `inner-hero-*` entries, outlex-corporate-website, for the corrected `rights` field wording)
- Tool/session: claude-code, design system consolidation session, 2026-09-14
- Folded into PRINCIPLES-v3.md: brand/imagery-v3.md §2 (2026-09-14)

## 2026-09-14 · website inner pages (19 pages) · newsletter asks and repeated sentences
- Had: multiple newsletter cards per inner page in some cases; verbatim sentences repeated across sections of the same page.
- Wanted: exactly one newsletter ask per inner page, footer only; zero repeated sentences except two founder-approved plan-fact repeats on comparison cards.
- His words: GATE 1 decision 3 ("on inner pages the footer form is the only newsletter ask; in-page cards and sections go, no exceptions").
- Picture: GATE 1 artifact (https://claude.ai/code/artifact/24c84c11-f919-4e7c-8264-d4eb4690d7b1); GATE 2 artifact (https://claude.ai/code/artifact/9483ee17-a8a8-440a-9ca5-0c232f9b8a6b)
- Tool/session: claude-code, website simplification (Phase C), 2026-09-14
- Folded into PRINCIPLES-v3.md: P-34 (2026-09-14)

## 2026-09-17 · all surfaces · product screenshot staging and V7 status
- Had: local agent notes saying "no compulsory tilt, use a still when it explains best", conflicting with this canon's product theater; the brand book's migration note read as if V7 were a route for existing product work.
- Wanted: this canon as the single rule. Product frames keep the 8° tilt, sheen and live loop, with small readable crops. V7 is migration status only, never a route for new work.
- His words: "i would follow the https://design.outlex.ai/ for consistensy"
- Picture: none (design system artifact https://claude.ai/artifact/LkQRWnYp6oujTPocg53xfE)
- Tool/session: claude-code, Outlex Gravity design system session, 2026-09-17
- Folded into PRINCIPLES-v3.md: not yet (brand-v3.md Migration state reworded 2026-09-21)

## 2026-09-17 · all surfaces, both themes · primary sage button contrast

- Wanted: option A of three shown side by side, darker sage with the warm-white label kept: `#53725A → #476249` (machined `#53725A → #4E6B55 → #476249`), 4.6 to 5.8:1. Hover lifts, never brightens.
- His words: chose "A: darker sage, white label" from a rendered comparison.
- Picture: side-by-side render sent in session (now / A / B, both themes)
- Tool/session: claude-code, Outlex Gravity design system session, 2026-09-17

- Had: `--ox-fg-chips` `#8A847C` at 3.3:1 on cream; light `--ox-amber-500` text at 3.0:1.
- Wanted: chip labels use `--ox-fg-muted` (5.2:1); light amber text step `oklch(0.53 0.13 75deg)` (4.8:1). Status dots unchanged because every dot carries a word beside it.
- His words: "Decide the chip and deadline text colours on the light theme, same way as the button. you recommend"
- Picture: none
- Tool/session: claude-code, Outlex Gravity design system session, 2026-09-17

- Folded into PRINCIPLES-v3.md: not yet (GRAMMAR-v3.md §7 and brand-v3.md §16 reworded)

## 2026-09-21 · all surfaces · grain texture
- Had: `--ox-grain-*` tokens and grain overlay recipes shipping 3.5 to 4% feTurbulence noise, contradicting the hard no on grainy or textured backgrounds.
- Wanted: grain removed everywhere; tokens and recipes deleted.
- His words: agreed to the recommendation "remove it" ("Yes, all three").
- Picture: none
- Tool/session: claude-code, Outlex Gravity design system session, 2026-09-21
- Folded into PRINCIPLES-v3.md: already a hard no (§ Hard nos); grain recipes removed 2026-09-21

## 2026-09-21 · product app · violet and document-type colours
- Had: product-only `--ox-violet-500/600` tokens for IP document tiles (unused in code); Library document types coloured by family.

- Tool/session: claude-code, Outlex Gravity design system session, 2026-09-21
- Folded into PRINCIPLES-v3.md: not yet

## 2026-09-21 · all surfaces, both themes · focus ring
- Had: canon wording "amber … focus rings"; the product app's 18%-alpha sage ring (1.0 to 1.3:1) plus blue and amber variants.
- Wanted: one solid sage ring, 2px wide with a 2px offset: `--ox-focus-ring` dark `oklch(0.68 0.10 150deg)` (5.3 to 7.4:1), light `oklch(0.48 0.10 150deg)` (5.2 to 6.2:1). Never amber.
- His words: agreed to the recommendation "solid sage focus ring" ("Yes, all three").
